Dermatology is the science of the skin's health and
diseases. At Beauty thru Health Dermatology,P.C. dermatologist,
Clarence L. Wiley,M.D.,F.A.A.D., and his staff offer medical and
surgical treatment options to help you obtain and maintain healthy and
enhanced skin. We emphasize and focus on the importance of a
dermatological evaluation and if needed, treatment of the skin problem
while enhancing the skin's appearance and health.
Dr. Wiley obtained his M.D. degree from Brown University in
Providence, RI, where he had also completed his bachelor's and master's
degrees.
As an undergraduate at Brown, he was twice selected as a Medical
Education Program Fellow for independent medical research.
During his graduate years, he served as a Regional Director of the
Student National Medical Association and was named the first United
Airline Fellow in the Brown University Medical Education Program.
After completing his dermatology residency in the respected program at
Barnes Hospital, Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.
in 1981, Dr. Wiley began to focus on the areas of dermatology that were
his passion: dermatologic, cosmetic and laser surgery, photo medicine,
and cosmetic products research, development, and education.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Wiley practiced dermatology in
Oklahoma City and in Kansas. Throughout his years of practice, he has
emphasized the concept of attaining and maintaining beauty through
healthy skin care. That premise continues to guide him in his cosmetic
dermatology practice today.
Dr. Wiley is a diplomat of the American Board of
Dermatology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the
American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society of
Laser Medicine and Surgery. He is past Chairman of the Dermatology
Section of the National Medical Association, representing African
American Dermatologists in the U.S.A. and Canada.
When searching for a dermatologic, cosmetic, or laser surgeon, Dr. Wiley encourages you to consider the following facts:
- Dermatologic surgeons receive specialty training during a
three-year dermatology residency where the focus is the biology and
microscopic analysis of healing skin - the key to understanding most
cosmetic procedures. These are the last 3 years of 12 years medical
training to becoming a dermatologist.
- The American Board of Medical Specialists, to which all
specialty boards are validated, recognizes the American Board of
Dermatology as the only board that mandates residency education in
liposuction, laser surgery, chemical peeling, hair transplantation,
dermabrasion and vein treatments to name a few training requirements.
Dr. Clarence Wiley was board certified in 1981.
- Cosmetic dermatologic surgeons invented and pioneered tumescent
liposuction, most chemical peeling treatments, dermabrasion, hair
transplantation, botox therapy, most cosmetic vein treatments, and
cosmetic laser procedures. Dr. Clarence Wiley has over 20 years
experience in laser and cosmetic dermatologic surgery. He received his
initial training in laser surgery from Dr. Leon Goldman who is
recognized as the "Father of Laser Surgery."
So, who do you want to perform or monitor your cosmetic
dermatological treatments - A board certified dermatologic surgeon with
over 20 years experience or a non-supervised technician who treats skin
in a non-medical clinic operated by a doctor who has no formal training
in dermatology and who you may never see or even be available for your
evaluation. Call Beauty thru Health Dermatology for your questions on
laser and cosmetic dermatologic surgery.
